Co-ment(R) 2 is on the way, you can help now!
Co-ment is up for big changes. Very soon (revised target date first half of March), co-ment 2 will deployed. This new version of co-ment will offer major improvements such as a better performance on large texts, more freedom for comment scope, simplified user interfaces, better exports of texts for printable formats, etc.
These improvements will go together with new models for the PRO and free-of-charge services : the PRO service will offer a personalized workspace (only possible today with our personalized instance offer), while a new free-of-charge service will offer a simplified way to do collaborative work on a private text during a limited period of time (without limitation on the number of texts).
Co-ment 2 is already live in two ways:
- A co-ment 2 workspace (the equivalent of what a PRO user of co-ment 2 gets) has been put in place for betatesters. Contact us to become one. This help will be much appreciated.
- As part of our effort to make it easier to install co-ment functionality on your own servers, a community site has been created, where you can download COMT (the GNU AGPL3 free software that powers co-ment 2) and contribute bug reports, functionality requests, translations (we intend teh COMT interfaces to become available in many languages) and more.
